About the Happy Stutterer

Does speaking freely still feel so hard?

You’ve been to therapy. You’ve learned the techniques. You’ve tried everything from 'just breathe' to bouncing syllables, practicing all the strategies to sound fluent.

And maybe, for a while, they worked.

But underneath all the effort, you’re still trying to control your speech to avoid stuttering. You’re monitoring every word. Rehearsing saying your name. Anticipating every speaking interaction.

You’re spending so much energy trying to manage stuttering — and the perceptions of what you look like to other people. You just want to sound normal and look professional.

But no one sees the real struggle. The constant effort to pass as fluent as possible.

And no matter how much effort you put in, it still feels like stuttering is holding you back from the life you want.

Hi, I'm Paige!

I’m a Certified Professional Coach, a former covert stutterer, and the founder of The Happy Stutterer.

Most of all, I’m someone who’s walked this path—and knows how exhausting it is to live a life shaped by hiding, avoidance, and the fear of stuttering.

I know what it’s like to live day-in and day-out in survival mode.

To rehearse every sentence.

To not say what you want to say because the cost of stuttering is too great.

For years, I believed that fluency would bring me freedom.

But the truth is, it wasn’t about how I sounded. It was about how I felt. Because stuttering thrives in the depths of shame, fear, and pressure.

Healing happens when we shift energy into safety, confidence, and self-connection.

That’s what The Happy Stutterer is really about.

It's not about "fixing" your stutter.

You're not broken. It’s about transforming your relationship with stuttering and modifying the coping behaviours that keep it alive.

Most of my clients come to me after therapy didn’t quite “stick" and still feel trapped in the emotional cycle of:

  • Perfectionism: “If I can’t say it perfectly, I shouldn’t say it at all.”
  • People-pleasing: “I’d rather stay quiet than make someone uncomfortable.”
  • Self-monitoring: “I have to control every word I say.”
  • Anxiety: “What if I block again?”
  • Low self-worth: “I’m less capable because I stutter.”
  • Deep-seated limits: “I can’t pursue that career, that relationship, that opportunity—people like me don’t belong there.”

And no amount of technique alone can fully heal these patterns.

What you need is a safe space to look at them honestly. To untangle them. To learn how to meet yourself with respect instead of criticism and begin participating in life on your own terms.

That’s the core of what we do together.

It's why I created The Happy Stutterer—not to promise a cure, but to offer a different way forward.

My approach

I’m not a speech therapist. I’m a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), trained through iPEC’s 9-month, ICF-accredited program.

My approach blends professional coaching with lived experience—and goes far beyond fluency techniques.

I work with adults who did not get the message "It's ok to stutter". I bring a holistic, psychology-rooted, energy-aware approach to help you:

  • Challenge the thoughts that fuel fear and avoidance
  • Take bold action even when discomfort is present
  • Feel safe in your body and reduce the fight-or-flight response
  • Shift from survival energy (fear, guilt, anger) into empowered states like courage, acceptance, and peace
  • Embracing Mindfulness, self-compassion, and emotional resilience because softening your inner voice changes everything

The Happy Stutterer is a path back to wholeness—not just fluency.

Here’s what happens when you stop fighting your stutter and start working with your whole self:

  • You feel calmer going into conversations—even high-stakes ones
  • You stop rehearsing every word and start showing up as you
  • You begin to speak with clarity and warmth, even when the stutter is there
  • You trust your voice—not just when it’s fluent, but when it’s honest
  • You stop letting stuttering define your worth or set the limits on your life.
  • You learn to shift the energy of shame into self-acceptance.
  • You practice showing up—imperfect, real, engaged.
  • You start saying “yes” to the experiences you’ve been putting off for years.

This isn’t about forcing fluency.

It’s about creating safety, shifting emotional energy, and stepping into a fuller expression of who you are.

That’s what I mean by happy.

More fluency is then a natural by-product of being happy, not the other way around.
